We’re seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join our innovative team at Syx Labs, a pioneer in blockchain and AI solutions in Africa. As a Backend Developer, you’ll lead the development and maintenance of our backend services, APIs, and applications, driving technical excellence and innovation.
Responsibilities
Design and develop scalable, efficient, and reliable backend systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
Work with frontend developer and product designer to deliver quality work
Write clean, testable, and maintainable code in languages like node.js, typescript.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the codebase
Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies
Collaborate with other teams to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring of backend services
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in backend development with good expertise in node.js, typescript
Ability to use automation software such as Retool
Strong understanding of software design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
Experience with containerization (Docker), cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), and agile development methodologies
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a logical and methodical approach
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Self-starter, and able to work independently without much supervision.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field”
Nice to have
Experience with micro services architecture, event-driven design, and service-oriented architecture
Knowledge of NoSQL databases and caching mechanisms
Familiarity with Kubernetes, Terraform, or other DevOps tools
Participation in open-source projects or personal coding projects
