Job Overview

Responsibilities include inventory management, parts operations, and ordering.
They are also required to track retail budgets ensuring profit, and manage employees of the automotive parts department.
They must ensure that the replacement parts inventory is maintained at an appropriate level to increase service department efficiency and customer satisfaction.
Many also serve as sales representatives for auto parts, requiring strong customer service skills.

Job Responsibilities (part but not limited to)

Develop effective parts processes for both internal and external customers and maintain an inventory for all service departments
Design a mechanism to monitor the inventory of all physical parts and oversee all return processes for parts
Manage the complete sales process of parts to boost the company’s revenue
Analyze demand, prepare sales forecast, and determine re-order level
Manage parts inventory
Identify prospects for volume sales, such as fleet operators or independent service repair centers
Maintain regular contact with major customers to build loyalty and ensure long-term revenue
Supervise team members – Storekeeper and Counter Sales
Determine part sales objectives and targets, ensure compatibility for same with dealers’ productivity, and aid all customers
Responsible for Business Development (Dealers, Fleet, Counter Sales)
Design and implement warehousing best practices (KAIZEN, ANZEN)
Build an efficient human resource, assess and recommend staff departmental training needs and requirements.
Perform any other job-related duties that may be assigned to the manager

Requirements

A B.Sc. Degree or equivalent in Sciences or Social Sciences with a minimum of 5 years cognate experience in related field.
Demonstrable experience in Spare Parts, Logistics and Supply, and Inventory Control Practices, preferably in the Automotive Industry.
A warehouse, logistics or distribution certification would be advantageous.
Supervisory/Managerial experience in the Workshop/Aftersales Dept in the Automotive industry is an advantage.
