Assistant Workshop Manager

Responsibilities

The workshop Manager will lead the activities of the maintenance department to ensure that the fleet is available, dependable and safe at all times.
He/she must be responsible for the general servicing, maintenance, and repairs of the vehicle. Investigate the root causes of every high way breakdown and take corrective measures to forestall future occurrence.
Organize and supervise the servicing, maintenance and repairs of the company fleet and ensure the vehicles are in good working conditions at all times
Ensure the vehicle comes to the workshop at designated kilometers for preventive maintenance.
Supervise the maintenance and repairs of all the fleet and other technical support equipment to ensure the job is done in a cost-effective manner.in accordance with planned preventative maintenance programs.
Overseas the administrative requirements of the workshop, including warranty, obligation, inspection records, Manual update, workshop policy and procedures.
Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly maintenance reports
Training and retraining of workshop personnel for effective performance at all times.

Requirements

HND / B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering (Specialization in Commercial Vehicles)
Minimum of 10 years strong Engineering experience with an established Commercial Vehicle Workshop (Trucks specifically)
Perfect knowledge of Auto Trucks.
Problem-solving skills and team spirit.
Product knowledge & skills to handle technical problems, warranty issues.
Ability to guide & train others.
Good communication ability, both verbally and in writing.
Computer skills: Microsoft Office Package
Valid driver’s license.
