ABOUT THE JOB
The Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASH) Assistant at Ekklesiyar An’UWA a Nigeria (EYE) serves as a field-based professional dedicated to expanding access to vital sexual and reproductive information and services for women and girls in Northeast Nigeria, specifically in Polka and the Gaza Local Government Area of Born State. This position encompasses efforts to improve service accessibility, fortify referral pathways for adolescent care, and bolster the competencies of partners and staff in addressing gender-based violence (GBV) and ASH challenges, ultimately fostering enhanced health outcomes among youth.
Pula ka is the designated location for this position.
As an integral member of the team, you will undertake a diverse range of critical duties, including but not limited to the development and implementation of strategic initiatives, meticulous project oversight, and the cultivation of strong stakeholder relationships. Additionally, you will be tasked with analyzing complex data sets to derive actionable insights, preparing comprehensive reports, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and compliance standards. Collaboration with cross-functional departments will be essential to drive innovation and achieve key performance targets. Your role will also involve providing expert guidance to junior staff, leading training sessions, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
The ASH Assistant will oversee various duties and responsibilities, encompassing—but not limited to—those explicitly outlined below, as well as any related tasks that logically extend from the specified functions.
Facilitate both group-based educational workshops and one-on-one counseling sessions focused on sexual and reproductive health services.
Deliver thorough sexuality education sessions and parent group meetings tailored for adolescents and their caregivers.
Deliver educational support to Community Health volunteers through structured sessions focused on Adolescent Sexual Reproductive Health services.
Facilitate safe motherhood sessions specifically tailored for pregnant adolescents.
Adapt all applicable ASH IEC materials to align with the specific requirements of program facilities and oversee the reprinting of essential ASH publications to facilitate their distribution.
Take part in and support the planning and execution of community-based sensitization initiatives focusing on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASH) services.
Organize campaigns related to ASRH
Facilitate collaborative forums with religious and community leaders to introduce adolescent sexual and reproductive health (ASH) services, including youth-friendly corners, and secure their endorsement and participation.
Present updates on program progress and relevant data during health coordination meetings to ensure stakeholders remain informed and aligned.
Compile and submit detailed weekly and monthly activity reports, ensuring comprehensive documentation of all actions and outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as marketing, communications, or business administration, is essential, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in digital marketing tools, data analytics platforms, and project management software is mandatory. Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills are critical for success. Candidates must exhibit exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, along with a proven track record of leading cross-functional teams. A diploma or Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant scientific discipline or the field of Public Health is required.
Requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in designing and executing Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASH) initiatives during emergency situations.
