Accounting Assistant

Job Summary

This is an mid-level position which provides accounting support to the Head of Account unit by performing a number of financial tasks

Responsibilities

Management of a payment voucher system;
Carry out proper documentation;
Remitting monthly PAYE to FIRS;
Assisting in the preparation of monthly account;
Other related duties.

Requirements Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Ability to accurately transfer and interpret data from one source to another;
Ability to perform basic accounting functions;
Knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and accounting procedures;
Ability to use a personal computer and software applications especially Microsoft Word and Excel;
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
Ability to work with minimum supervision and effectively prioritize tasks; and
Knowledge of the double entry principle of accounting.
Education and Experience:
B.Sc Degree in Accounting or any related field of study; and
Experience with the use of a variety of computer applications including Excel and Word.
