Account Officer

Job Description

The Account Officer ensures accurate financial record-keeping, monitors compliance with internal controls, and enhances the efficiency of financial operations. This role involves managing the company’s accounts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and implementing control mechanisms to safeguard the company’s assets and financial integrity.

Job Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Management:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including general ledgers, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Monitor cash flow and prepare budgets to ensure financial stability.
Managing business expenses and confirming B2B and B2C payments
Conduct prepayment audit of financial transactions
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and handle tax filings, including VAT and WHT.

Collaboration and Reporting:

Work closely with other departments and the Accounting and Tax Consultants to ensure accurate financial information and reporting.
Provide management with insights and recommendations based on financial analysis.
Assist external auditors during audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Reporting:

Preparing and presenting reports on receivables and payables
Preparing and presenting reports on wastage value
Preparing and presenting reports on requests/budget vs actual expenses o Preparing and presenting reports on other tasks

Qualifications and Skills

Education: HND or BSc in Accounting.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year in accounting, internal control, or audit roles, preferably in the FMCG or manufacturing industry.

Skills:

Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Knowledge of financial regulations and reporting standards. o Analytical and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
