Account and Admin Officer

Description

Mark Calthers Consulting Limited is sourcing for an Accounts Officer who will be responsible for coordinating the activities of the finance department; tracking payments to internal and external stakeholders, preparing budget forecasts, processing tax payments and returns.

Responsibilities

Manage all accounting transactions.
Prepare budget forecasts.
Liaise with the human resource department to maintain an effective payroll administration
system.
Publish financial statements and bookkeeping ledgers in time.
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Ensure timely bank payments.
Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
Audit financial transactions and documents.
Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or any other related field.
Professional certification is a plus (ICAN, ACA, etc).
Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an accountant, accounts officer or relevant role.
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
Ability to strategize and solve problems.
Strong leadership and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and people skills.
Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks.
