EDC/NEI PLUS PROJECT – SOKOTO.LGEA ACCESS and fragility COORDINATOR recrUitmentPOSITION: LGEA ACCESS AND FRAGILITY COORDINATOR – GWADABAWA, SOKOTOLocation: EDC/NEI PLUS PROJECT, SOKOTO Office, Sokoto STATE.SummaryThis is to invite application from suitably qualified candidates for the post of a Local Government Education Authority Access and Fragility Coordinator under the Northern Education Initiative. The successful candidate will be expected to work in Gwadabawa Local Government Area in that capacity.Position Summary: The Access Coordinator will provide support for the expansion of access-related activities, including safety, reduction in risks and gender based violence. Others include providing equitable access to education services, conduct of education conflict analysis as well as promoting non-formal education, safeguarding learner well-being and provision of psycho-social support.Essential Job Functions: The essential areas of the access and fragility coordinator job functions include:Responsibilities:
Assist in analyzing and addressing barriers to education access and participation;
Support Access issues on supply and demand for education options/services;
Participate in analysis and assessment of education needs in emergencies;
Liaise with LGEA and NGO partners to address barriers to access to education both formal and non-formal.
Work with non-formal education as well as Islamic Education centers to improve access to education for children
Reporting & Supervision:The successful candidate will be reporting to the Sokoto State Access and Fragility Officer.Primary Responsibilities:
Supervise the implementation of all Northern Education Initiative Plus supported Access and Fragility activities such as trainings, facilitator/center supervision, monitoring and learner testing efforts.
Ensure complementarity of activity approaches in Access and Fragility across the LGEA,
Liaise with LGEA representatives and technicians on technical matters, and bears ultimate responsibility for ensuring that children in Northern Education Initiative Plus public, and NFLC schools achieve improved outcome.
Interested Candidate should possess:Required Skills & Qualifications:
Master’s degree with at least one year or Bachelors with at least 3 years of relevant experience in education development with familiarity working in local governmental systems in Nigeria
Prior experience providing training and capacity building to staff and counterparts in areas of participatory planning
Fluency in English and Hausa required.
Familiarity with the norms and culture of the communities
