West African Soy Industries Limited (BASIL) manages one of Africa’s premier oils and fats processing facilities, strategically located in Sag amu, Gun State, Nigeria. The company procures its raw materials directly from smallholder farmers across key agricultural regions, including Kaduna, Katrina, and Niger, as well as other states in Nigeria. Through its integrated operations, BASIL strengthens the soy value chain by implementing an out-grower farming model, supplying farmers with high-quality agricultural inputs and securing harvests via structured off-take agreements. Additionally, the company promotes sustainable agricultural practices by educating farmers on Yield Enhancement Techniques (YET) to boost productivity. BASIL also empowers women in rural communities by providing training on best practices for Shea not collection and primary processing.
