Job Summary
We seek a skilled Health Unit Coordinator (HUB) to perform all essential secretarial duties required for the smooth operation of our medical facility.
You will serve as the primary liaison fostering clear and productive communication between medical staff and the designated point of contact for all administrative functions within the unit.

The HUB’s core responsibility is to maintain the facility’s seamless operation. You will verify the accurate storage and dissemination of information between medical staff and patients.
Oversee daily operational activities to ensure efficient workflow and task completion. Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, quality, and team performance. Monitor key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives and foster a cohesive work environment. Provide guidance and support to team members to achieve organizational goals. Prepare and present reports to senior management highlighting progress, challenges, and strategic recommendations. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.
Warmly welcome patients upon arrival and distribute necessary paperwork for them to complete.
Maintain and oversee appointment calendars and other scheduling systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date record-keeping.
Accurately document physicians’ instructions and directives to ensure precise communication of patient care instructions.
Responsible for the accurate documentation and upkeep of patient medical records, including the systematic recording of vital signs.
Prepare and retrieve essential documents, including birth and death certificates, as well as discharge summaries, as required.
Revise databases by incorporating the latest patient data to ensure accuracy and completeness in medical records.
Partner with healthcare professionals and administrative teams to foster interdisciplinary communication and achieve organizational objectives.
When inventory levels reach specified thresholds, initiate procurement of necessary materials and equipment to ensure uninterrupted operations. Maintain clear communication with vendors to secure timely deliveries and verify that all orders adhere to organizational guidelines and budget constraints.
Perform additional responsibilities as deemed necessary or assigned by management.
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in software development. Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++ is essential, while familiarity with frameworks like Spring or Django is advantageous. Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical skills are necessary to design efficient solutions. Excellent communication skills are needed to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams. A commitment to continuous learning and staying updated with emerging technologies is expected.
A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required to apply for this position.
Completion of a HUB training program is highly desirable.
Certified professionals are preferred; however, relevant industry credentials will be considered advantageous.
Experienced professionals with a background in health unit coordination or equivalent positions are required for this role.
Professionals should possess hands-on experience navigating and utilizing medical records and specialized databases to ensure accurate data retrieval and efficient information management.
Proficient in medical terminology relevant to the field is required.
Proficiency in medical transcription provides an advantageous background.
