Description

We are looking for a seasoned and proficient Consultant Obstetrician & Gynecologist to deliver expert care in obstetrics and gynecology. This role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing conditions that impact women’s reproductive health.

The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional clinical services, mentor junior medical staff, and actively enhance patient care standards.

Oversee and execute a comprehensive range of strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing operational performance, ensuring adherence to company policies and industry regulations, and driving sustainable business growth. Develop and implement innovative processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity across departments. Lead cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives, fostering collaboration and accountability. Prepare and present detailed reports to senior management, summarizing key performance indicators, project progress, and strategic recommendations. Monitor market trends and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for expansion and mitigate potential risks. Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and ethical standards while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and stakeholder value. Collaborate with external partners, vendors, and regulatory bodies to secure advantageous agreements and uphold industry best practices.

Deliver expert consultations and clinical services in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology.

Oversee the care of patients throughout the antenatal, antepartum, and postnatal phases.

Examine and manage conditions impacting the female reproductive system, providing specialized care and therapeutic interventions as needed.

Conduct both elective and emergency obstetric and gynecological procedures and surgical interventions.

Perform daily ward rounds to systematically evaluate and assess patients’ treatment plans.

Oversee the care of patients experiencing high-risk pregnancies and obstetric emergencies to ensure optimal outcomes.

Evaluate diagnostic findings to determine suitable therapeutic interventions.

Provide leadership and guidance to medical officers, resident physicians, and allied healthcare staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring high standards of clinical practice.

Engage actively in collaborative multidisciplinary team meetings and systematic clinical audits to foster comprehensive patient care and continuous quality improvement.

Ensure precise documentation and meticulous maintenance of patient records and clinical information.

Maintain strict adherence to clinical protocols, regulatory mandates, and ethical guidelines to uphold operational integrity and patient safety.

Engage actively in ongoing medical education, research endeavors, and initiatives aimed at enhancing quality standards.

Seeking candidates with an advanced degree in a relevant field, such as education, psychology, or a related discipline, from an accredited institution. Minimum educational requirement includes a bachelor’s degree, while a master’s or higher is strongly preferred for specialized roles. Additional certifications or professional development in areas like curriculum design, instructional leadership, or educational technology may be required or advantageous, depending on the position.

A medical degree, specifically a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS/MB ChB) or an equivalent qualification, is required.

Fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynecology from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN) or the West African College of Surgeons (WAS), or an equivalent credential recognized by the appropriate authorities.

Hold a valid, active license issued by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

With experience comes the ability to effectively execute tasks and deliver results consistently. Candidates should possess a proven track record in relevant roles, demonstrating proficiency in key responsibilities and adaptability to evolving challenges. A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; advanced qualifications or specialized certifications are advantageous. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is mandatory, and familiarity with regulatory frameworks is preferred. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.

Holds a current, annually renewed professional license that permits active practice.
