A leading cashew manufacturing enterprise with an established production presence in Nigeria is actively recruiting skilled and seasoned Shelling Machine Operators to join its team without delay.
Oversee and execute core duties encompassing a broad range of operational and strategic functions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency, productivity, and compliance across departments. Serve as a key liaison between senior management, team members, and external stakeholders to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration. Monitor performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and drive initiatives to optimize workflows and resource allocation. Manage cross-functional projects, allocate responsibilities, and ensure timely delivery of milestones while maintaining high standards of quality and accountability.
Operate shelling machines by loading raw cashew nuts into the equipment and overseeing the shelling process to ensure efficiency and quality.
Adjust machine parameters—such as speed, pressure, and blade clearance—to align with varying nut sizes, thereby reducing kernel breakage.
Perform thorough quality inspections of shelled kernels to detect any instances of breakage, shell residue, or other defects.
Proactively identify and resolve minor equipment malfunctions, eliminate paper or material jams, conduct regular cleaning of machines, and escalate significant operational faults to the maintenance team for further investigation.
Adhere strictly to all established safety protocols and utilize the necessary personal protective equipment, such as gloves, safety goggles, and hearing protection.
Strive to consistently achieve daily production goals while ensuring minimal kernel breakage rates.
Accurately document machine runtime, production output, downtime, and maintenance activities in detailed records.
Requirements
A minimum of two years of hands-on experience operating shelling machines or comparable production equipment within a manufacturing setting is required.
Capable of overseeing and fine-tuning machine configurations to optimize production efficiency.
Maintains a rigorous commitment to precision and meticulousness in all tasks.
Proficiency in basic troubleshooting techniques and routine machine maintenance is required.
Proficient knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and best practices is required.
Must be willing to work in Mowe-Ibafo, Ogun State.
