Job Role: The Lead Process Engineer will be responsible for providing support on Process Engineering related issues within the Assets Development & Projects, and Production Teams. The incumbent will operate as the Technical Authority for Process Engineering and be responsible for driving Process Optimization and Continuous Improvement of operations and Benchmarking.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Process engineering activities towards Site Support:
Conduct and endorse process studies in order to optimize production
Contribute to the creation of Operating Philosophies for new projects,
Endorse formulation of Operations Manual for new projects and review / update existing ones,
Prepare, review and update guidelines and verify proper implementation on site,
Provide process support for Onshore / Offshore commissioning, Start-up, Ramp-up & Shutdown
Provide process assistance to Onshore / Offshore day-to-day Operations (trouble shooting)
Process engineering activities towards Facility Modifications, Upgrades or De-bottlenecking:
Perform and endorse core process design activities,
Recommend work programmes for modifications and optimisation of facilities and / or equipment
Prepare Scope of Requirements (Feasibility and Pre-Project Studies or Site Modifications Requests),
Endorse engineering studies done by Contractors as required,
Undertake de-bottleneck studies and recommend solutions to optimize existing installations,
Ensure that engineering studies meet Field Operations aspirations and objectives,
Ensure that Process Design complies with Company Rules and Specifications,
Ensure that Process Documentation is kept up to date (P&ID, PFD, Operating Manual, etc),
Lead technical audits (HAZOP, HAZID, Company technical audits and quality reviews, etc),
Lead site visits during process studies
Track implementation of Site Modifications as requested
Perform production support activities:
Follow up site activities and identify areas for production improvement,
Lead and participate in Problem Solving Groups when required,
Provide special operations support to Site when required (e.g. pigging operations, well clean up, etc),
Endorse specific Operating Manuals and Procedures as required
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in Chemical/ Process / Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
Registered with COREN or NSE
Membership of professional association for related discipline
Minimum of 12 years’ in the upstream Oil and Gas industry
10 years’ experience in Process Engineering within the Engineering and Projects environment, and at least 5 years in a supervisory position.
Exposure to all stages of the offshore oil & gas project life cycle and operating assets is mandatory.
Proficiency in process engineering design and simulation software (e.g. HYSYS, UNISIM, etc) is mandatory
