Job Description
As the Cross-Border Marketplace Manager – Jumia (Full Time), you will facilitate delivery and notification of Import shipments, communicate with the Delivery Manager and solve issues interrupting the flow. This involves tracking and tracing, ensuring bills of lading is submitted, pay freight, and have appropriately clearance from the Nigeria customs prior to release and delivery.
Responsibilities In particular you will:
Receive documents and initiate logging process, confirm data received is in compliance with all Nigeria Custom requirements, process all shipments in accordance with requirements, coordinate cargo availability and arrange pickup and delivery, and finalize billing and distribute shipment as required.
Review daily monitoring reports, ensure all measurements standards are met, and proactively report non-conformances.
Create route to improve delivery fulfilment and customer promise for international order
Diversify logistic partnership for trade route
Test new international shipping solution to create most reliable and even faster supply
Develop systems and processes to improve fulfilment lead-time for Jumia global bound shipment
Constantly improving existing processes and finding means to better supply efficiency and metric
Rollout and standardize reverse supply chain for international sellers
Streamline international seller inventory management
Enhancement of Customer Experience/Vendor Experience for Jumia Global
Constantly review SKU with poor review and quality
Manage vendor Payment and logistic recharge
Cost optimization for international Freight and local clearing
Negotiate international freight & local clearing cost with 100% reliability
Automate and make dashboards as real time as possible to show performance metric
Professional Skills & Qualifications
MBA or Master’s Degree in: Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain or related fields
Have strong leadership experience in a customer facing role in International Supply Chain Management/ International Freight Forwarding /International Logistics
8+ years experience in Logistics involving international import, export, and domestic activities
Experience in operations within a 3PL or freight brokerage company
Clear understanding of Logistics network management, Retail or Customer Service processes and priorities
Must have the ability to handle customs and shipping companies for Imports, temporary importation, and Exports.
Must have knowledge of the Customs and Excise HS Code and Explanatory notes.
Understanding of E-Commerce Direct-to-Consumer order fulfilment concepts is a plus
