Safety & Quality Manager

Job SummaryOne our clients, an E&P company requires the services of a Safety & Quality Manager for one its subsidiaries. You will ensure the company’s operational strategies and equipment are operated in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
Description

Contribute to the formulation and implementation of Company’s operational strategies in line with the Company’s long term business objectives and drive the Group’s governance policies, standards and values.
Put adequate operational systems and controls in place as well as ensure proper monitoring and adherence.
Drive the maintenance of company culture and the achievement of approved financial, business and risk management objectives as well as the applicable legal and regulatory requirements of relevant authorities e.g. FAA, NAHCO, NEMA, FAAN, NCAA, etc.
Monitor compliance with all company procedures to ensure safe operations, airworthy aircraft and the serviceability of both operational and safety equipment.
Review relevant documentations such as engineering notices, airworthiness requirements, compliance reports, maintenance programs and manuals etc. for adequacy and follow up with implementation.
Assist in the investigation of accidents, incidents and all reportable occurrences that resulted/could have resulted in damage to/failure of equipment and/or injury to personnel; document findings and make recommendations as appropriate.
Prepare all relevant documentation for airworthiness of the aircraft and its parts as well as provide quality assurance as required for the successful operation of the aircraft.
Participate in external audit and maintain effective liaison with relevant stakeholders and regulatory agencies e.g. NCAA during their surveys and inspections
Provide relevant training on quality and other safety procedures
Maintain appropriate records of all quality audits and inspections carried out, including preventive and corrective actions performed
Report regularly to the GM on all operational and business matters as appropriate
Coach and mentor less experienced colleagues in order to ensure transfer of knowledge
Perform any other duty as may be assigned

Key Requirements

Extensive knowledge of logistic systems, planning, quality control and supervisory policies, principles, procedures and techniques.
Familiar with the development and operation of management reporting systems.
Demonstrated experience with process improvement approaches and change management.
Excellent communication, effective leadership and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical skills.
Additional knowledge/skills may be required by contract or assignment.
