About the position:
The Network and System Administrator assistant is a key role that will lead day-to-day technology operations and support a small team in Senegal. You will work collaboratively with a technology team based Senegal and various other countries. You will also work with the executive team, field operations team and R&D teams.
Key responsibilities are:
Staff Support and Customer Service (Help Desk)
Network Maintenance and Information Technology (IT)
Assistance and recommendations follow-up for Headquarters IT Manager
Remote work with Headquarters IT department
Preventive maintenance and optimization of servers, computers and devices
Solve problems quickly and communicate with related teams as needed
Required Skills & Qualifications (you will have to justify every line here):
Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Computer Networks, or related technical discipline Experience in linux administration, network design and monitoring, VoIP or Asterisk management
Minimum of 1 year experience in system and network management in a professional environment
Proven ability to work independently on important projects
French understanding would be a plus
Preferred Skills and Qualities:
Administration experience with Linux/CentOS
Professional experience on Asterisk
Proficiency with PRTG, Nagios, Wireshark…
Experience in mobile networks: 3G, GSM, USSD
Experience in computer asset management
Experience in database administration and data mining
Ability to develop and support teams with data analytics (designing dashboards, reporting, etc.)
Ability to work in a team and willing to do some team management
Strategic thought process and strong decision-making capabilities based on data analytics
Creative and versatile approach to problem-solving; solution-oriented
Proven, strong communication skills and ability to work cross-culturally
A strong sense of humor and an open mind
