The Finance Coordinator reports to the Area Manager.
Job description
Ensure monthly reconciliation of all balance accounts on a monthly basis
Ensure proper filing of financial documents according to donor requirements
Following up and ensuring that advances are settled in a timely manner
Coordinate with field office and CO finance staff for scanning and archiving of financial documents
Ensure monthly financial feedback on both soft and hard documents sent to field offices.
Perform and checking of financial document and controls to make sure all procedures are followed and to implement recommendations from various auditors, and NRC Controller.
Ensure period and yearend deadlines for NRC Nigeria are met.
Daily verification of POs, PRs Bid Analysis, per diem claim and other documents within the finance Coordinator threshold
Facilitate monthly BVA meetings, Project summary and spending plans with PDMs.
Responsible project closing according to NRC – Financial handbook Annex 8
Responsible for processing of all rebooking’s.
Responsible for monthly distribution of AFFX0000 and AFFX0001
Responsible for generating monthly timesheet.
Ensure that all costs are booked into Agresso on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Adequate supervision of 2 Finance Officers and 1 Technical Finance Officer
Coordinate weekly meetings between finance staff for information sharing
Ensure that staff salaries are properly recorded in Agresso according to budgetary allocations.
Follow-up on cash projections and cash availability for program activities
Ensuring that all payment vouchers are properly stamped “PAID” before filing.
Performing and following up on any other duties assigned by line manager
Qualifications
Experience from working as a Finance Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
Good in oral and written English
Good knowledge of the North – Eastern Nigeria context
Minimum of University degree in related field

Salary/benefits: According to NRC’s general directions.
Duty station: Maiduguri, with frequent travels. Travel outside Maiduguri is dependent on changing security conditions, especially for certain roads in the area.
Approved health certficate will be requested before contract start.
