Job Description
The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for the General Management of all business functions, sales, operations, finance, human resource, administration, communication with stakeholders, etc.
The COO shall ensure that budget forecast in terms of sales, revenues, costs, profit as well as market share are achieved by all Business Units.
Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is to lead the Company by providing a strategic direction that includes the development and implementation of plans, policies, strategies, and budgets for the growth and profitable operation of the Company.
The COO will report to the Board of Directors of the Company.
Other Responsibilities In fulfilling his or her responsibilities, the COO will:
Ensure that the day to day activities of the Company are effectively executed
Develop and recommend to the Board annual business plans, capital and operating plans and budget that support the Company’s long-term plans and strategy;
Keep the Board fully informed in a timely manner of the progress of the Company towards achievement of its targets and goals and of all material deviations from the policies established by the Board;
Take steps to build an effective management team and oversee the Company’s active plan for Management development and succession;
Ensure effective internal controls and management information systems are in place;
Plan, execute and monitor effective sales and distribution initiatives;
Provide periodic Competitor Analysis to the Board along with response strategies
Articulate and execute a business development and growth plan for the Company;
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable Institution. An MBA will be an added advantage.
A minimum of 15 years working experience in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) Sector.
Strong business acumen in the area of finance, budget planning, sales and marketing, human resources management and organizational development
Hands-on experience with management reporting and control
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Negotiation, team building and collaboration skills
Good people management skills and experience
Excellent Presentation Skills
Must be under 55 years’ old
Must possess excellent project management with team lead abilities
Should have proven success in working in a similar role where a business plan was implemented and positive outcomes achieved
Should have the ability to drive, meet and exceed set KPIs
Ability to interact with people at all levels and to develop strong client relationships.
Should possess good communication and IT Proficiency
Creative ability to solve complex problems and to work well under pressure.
