UNICEF Nigeria is seeking to appoint a Senior International Consultant to conduct an in-depth, evidence-based Gender Equality Programmatic Review (GPR). This review will evaluate the existing landscape, identify critical gaps, explore opportunities, and outline strategic pathways to enhance gender integration within UNICEF Nigeria’s programming and operational frameworks. The consultant’s findings will play a pivotal role in shaping the next Country Program for the 2028–2032 period.

Key outputs will comprise a Desk Review Report, a Draft Mission Agenda, a Preliminary Findings Presentation, a Debrief Slide Deck, a draft GPR Report outlining agreed Gender Equality Priorities, a finalized GPR Report, and a draft Gender Action Plan—all of which will guide the Strategic Moment of Reflection scheduled for early September.

Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as computer science, engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates must possess at least three years of professional experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of project management and technical proficiency. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication abilities to collaborate effectively across teams. Familiarity with industry-specific tools, methodologies, and best practices is required, and prior certifications may be advantageous. The ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to evolving priorities is critical.

A Master’s degree in Gender Equality Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health, or a related discipline is required.

Seeking candidates with significant professional background in relevant fields. Ideal applicants will possess a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in designated areas, demonstrating expertise through prior roles. Prior involvement in similar projects or industries will be highly advantageous, showcasing the ability to adapt and excel in dynamic environments. Proven track record of delivering measurable outcomes in previous positions is essential for consideration.

With a minimum of eight years of hands-on technical expertise in gender equality programming or research, candidates should demonstrate a robust proficiency and extensive background in this specialized field.

Demonstrated expertise in collaborating with national program teams to conduct assessments or evaluations focused on gender equality and/or social inclusion.

Fluent and articulate written and verbal communication skills in English, coupled with exceptional interpersonal and presentation abilities, are essential.
