Description:Our Client, a service rendering firm, as part of its expansionary drive, the company is desirous of recruiting an Inventory Manager to help achieve its organisational goals. KEY PURPOSE OF JOBThe Inventory Manager will oversee the management of physical inventory including management systems, database management, forecasting, requisitioning and internal /supplier physical control with the objective of maximizing record accuracy and turnover while supporting on-time availability of spare parts, tools and equipment.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring all key functions related to inventory transactions to ensure they are accurate and timely including elimination of slow moving or obsolete items.
Manages the cycle counting program, including design and implementation of the program and any needed changes.
Monitor stock levels of critical components ensuring that they are available and ensures on-time delivery by requesting for replacement when items reach critical re-order levels.
Monitor and report on Excess to Policy inventory levels and execute plans to reduce those materials to policy level. This will require interaction between FMD, finance Procurement to be successful.
Coordinates with the procurement department to schedule delivery of materials, spares, tools equipment, and services according to requirements of the company’s operations. Investigates and solves problems resulting from spare shortages, however caused.
Analyses inventory trends to determine root cause of discrepancies and implement fixes or process changes.
Maintain records for inventory accuracy trends, inventory reconciliations, and inventory audit.
Identify potential areas for inventory discrepancies and reports to management.
Lead inventory and ensure continuous improvement.
Weekly / monthly reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
Analyse inventory management systems and procedures and their results, recommending changes, writing modifications, and coordinating their implementation to improve integrity, control, and the capability to meet company objectives.
Provide technical guidance to personnel on inventory management systems, and oversee personnel training in the effective use and understanding of these systems.
Responsible to see that documentation in the form of procedures and work instructions is available and current for critical functions.
Assists in the development of cost saving measures through the improvement process (Kaizen).
Assigns responsibilities, takes corrective actions, demonstrates leadership and evaluates, develops and motivates employees.
Supervises, schedules, assigns, monitors, reviews and evaluates the work of assigned staff
Responsible for the motivation and development of subordinates to optimize their performance and their personal and professional growth.
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned
