Audit/Account Senior

Details:Accounting Responsibilities

Assists in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines for MSMEs;
Assists with reviewing of expenses, payroll records and other records as assigned;
Updates financial data and information using accounting software to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed;
Prepares and submits weekly/monthly reports;
Assists in the preparation of monthly/yearly closings of financial records;
Preparing of cash projection and operating budget for MSMEs;
Monitoring budgetary performance and control
Preparing bankable business plan for MSMEs;
Guiding and training MSMEs in preparing accounting records, cashflow projections and management accounts,
Guiding MSMEs on inventory control and stock taking;
Writing and setting up accounting system;
Assists with other accounting projects.

Audit Responsibilities

Works with both junior and senior auditors in laying out a plan for the audit assignments;
Provides information to client on documents required to begin the audit process;
Checks the expenditures, revenue and other financial records to ensure that the numbers are accurate, regulations are complied with and payments are properly categorized and recorded;
Conducts audit test using GAAP and IFRS;
Documents audit issues, writes audit reports and follows up on outstanding audit issues and tasks;
Carries out an organised assessment of financial records, control management practices, policies and reports;
Scrutinises, contracts, investigates claims and vital financial documents and records;
Prepares periodic status reports and internal communications.
Ensures auditing policy control in line with International Auditing Standards (ISAs)
Preparation of audited financial statements in line with IFRS
Responsible for the day-to-day supervision and running of audit assignments;
Apportions audit work among the team members and monitors completion of the work meeting deadlines

Tax Responsibilities

Review of tax files before audit commencement;
Participating in Tax Audit assignments.

Business Advisory Services;

Works with other professionals e.g. lawyers, secretaries, entrepreneurs, accountants, engineers and auditors to establish new enterprises and grow the existing ones.
Training and coaching interventions for MSMEs;
Providing professional advice to MSMEs

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree with minimum of Second Class Lower from a reputable UniversityTRAININGREQUIREMENTS:

ICAN/ACCA (Mandatory)
Excellent Excel Proficiency
Ability to use basic accounting software
Audit training in a professional accounting practice not less than 2 years

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in financial accounting and auditing
Knowledge of Nigerian tax laws
Experience in Business Plan preparation
IFRS Knowledge
