JOB SUMMARY
We are looking for a dedicated and proficient Solar Installation Officer with a minimum of two years of experience in the renewable energy industry. The successful candidate will oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems across residential, commercial, and industrial applications. Oversee various facets of the role, including the execution of key duties such as managing projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to deadlines, and maintaining high standards of quality. Install, examine, and service photovoltaic (PV) systems while ensuring full compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Translate solar system designs and schematics into actionable implementation plans, ensuring alignment with technical specifications and project requirements.
Perform comprehensive on-site evaluations to ascertain system requirements and assess the viability of installation.
Collaborate effectively with project engineers, electricians, and contractors to guarantee installations are completed punctually and with precision.
Execute troubleshooting procedures, conduct diagnostic assessments, and perform repair work on photovoltaic systems as required.
Verify adherence to established safety protocols and organizational policies to maintain regulatory compliance and operational integrity.
Accurately document all installations, materials utilized, and service-related activities in accordance with established protocols.
Deliver expert guidance to clients regarding system operations and maintenance, ensuring comprehensive understanding and effective utilization.
Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced analytical skills are essential. The ideal applicant should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with industry-specific software or tools is a plus. Additionally, the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is required.
A minimum of one year of practical experience in solar photovoltaic (PV) installation or another relevant renewable energy discipline is required.
A diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
Demonstrates a solid grasp of solar photovoltaic (PV) system components, wiring methodologies, and applicable safety regulations, including but not limited to the National Electrical Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards.
Proficient in analyzing and interpreting technical drawings as well as electrical schematics with precision and clarity.
Proficient in utilizing the tools, equipment, and testing instruments commonly employed in solar installation projects.
Proficiency in hybrid systems, battery storage technologies, or solar water heating applications is required.
Relevant professional certifications, such as NAB CEP or the PV Installation Professional credential, would be considered an asset.
Exceptional analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail are essential.
Requires a high level of physical fitness and the capacity to perform duties at elevated heights or in diverse outdoor environments.
