The sector focuses on the exploration, extraction, processing, and distribution of oil and gas resources, encompassing upstream, midstream, and downstream operations to meet global energy demands.

As a member of our team, you will report directly to the Head of Logistics, ensuring seamless coordination and alignment with the department’s strategic objectives. This role involves collaborating closely with leadership to implement and oversee logistics operations, maintaining efficiency and accuracy in all processes. You will serve as a key liaison, facilitating communication between various stakeholders and the logistics team to optimize workflow and drive continuous improvement.

You will be tasked with executing a range of duties, including overseeing daily operations, managing project timelines, and ensuring team productivity aligns with organizational goals. Additional responsibilities involve collaborating with cross-functional departments to streamline workflows, monitoring performance metrics to identify areas for improvement, and implementing strategic initiatives to enhance efficiency. The role also requires addressing operational challenges promptly, maintaining compliance with company policies, and fostering an environment that promotes innovation and accountability.

Oversee the complete spectrum of import and export clearance processes for all shipments, ensuring seamless coordination from start to finish.

Collaborate with customs clearing agents, shipping lines, terminal operators, and Free Zone authorities to facilitate uninterrupted cargo processing and expedited release.

Oversee and ensure the timely completion of all customs documentation and declaration procedures.

Collaborate with the Oil & Gas Free Zone Authority (OGF ZA/OG ZA) and other pertinent Free Zone entities to secure shipment approvals and ensure adherence to compliance standards.

Handle the receipt of shipments and verify all associated documentation within the Free Zone, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established protocols.

Ensure adherence to Free Zone operational protocols and all applicable import/export regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities include ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation of permits, approvals, and regulatory communications.

Ensure full compliance with BES TAF Safety Management Systems guidelines when handling Lubricant Oil, grease, and plastic products, with strict adherence to proper labelling and storage protocols.

Maintain adherence to all applicable environmental regulations governing the disposal and management of waste materials.

Collaborate effectively with procurement, sales, finance, production, and warehouse teams to maintain seamless operational workflows.

Collaborate seamlessly with internal stakeholders and warehouse personnel to ensure the streamlined processing and management of inventory.

Leverage the company’s internal logistics platform and complementary tools to streamline processes and automate repetitive tasks for optimal efficiency.

Responsibilities include overseeing the proper maintenance and efficient operation of equipment designed for handling various product types.

Requirement

A bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Management/Engineering, Economics, Transport Management, Business Administration/Management, or a closely related discipline is required.

With a minimum of two to three years of hands-on experience in logistics and supply chain operations management, you will demonstrate a strong ability to oversee and coordinate multiple third-party logistics (3PL) service providers, ensuring seamless cargo movement, adherence to delivery schedules, and full operational compliance.

Proficiency in collaborating with clearing agents, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs authorities—both domestically and abroad—along with a comprehensive understanding of import/export documentation and customs clearance protocols is required. Familiarity with operations in a free trade zone is considered an additional benefit.

Relevant credentials, including the Certified Supply Chain Analyst (CSCA), Certified Trade Compliance Manager (CTCM), Certified International Trade and Logistics Specialist (CITES), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Logistics & Transport Professional (CLTP), or OSHA Safety Certification, may provide a competitive advantage.

Required Competencies: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience; 3+ years of professional experience in a similar role; proficiency in industry-standard software and tools; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and teamwork abilities; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines; dedication to continuous learning and professional development.

Exceptional skills in leading and managing teams effectively.

Possesses foundational to intermediate proficiency in technology tools and the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, among other applications.

Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail are essential for effectively managing diverse transactions across Africa and beyond.

Capable of both adhering to and proposing enhancements for established processes to optimize supply chain and logistics functions.

Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both verbally and in writing, to facilitate seamless collaboration with internal stakeholders and external collaborators.

Ability to proactively identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to customs clearance bottlenecks, supplier coordination, transport operations, and internal stakeholder engagement to ensure operational efficiency, timely cargo movement, and minimal disruptions to logistics activities.
