The Managing Director will spearhead the cooperative’s strategic direction, fostering membership expansion while overseeing credit and loan administration. Responsibilities include leading and developing a high-performing staff, reinforcing financial governance, and maintaining operational profitability and long-term sustainability.

Direct supervision of the cooperative’s daily activities is required, with regular reporting to the Board and Executive Committee.
Enhance member acquisition, expand savings initiatives, and foster business expansion to drive organizational growth.
Responsible for managing the entire loan lifecycle, including marketing, appraisal, disbursement, monitoring, and recovery processes.
Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting processes, cash management activities, and internal control systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Oversee staff performance, cultivate teamwork, enforce discipline, and ensure service delivery meet established standards.
Ensure meticulous documentation, adherence to regulatory compliance, proactive risk management, and continuous audit preparedness.
Establish and cultivate strong connections with community members, local groups, businesses, and institutions throughout the Cuba area and its neighboring regions.
Seeking candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience, along with proficiency in project management tools and methodologies. The ideal applicant will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Prior experience in a similar role and familiarity with industry-specific regulations are highly desirable. Excellent communication and organizational abilities are essential for effectively managing multiple tasks and stakeholders.
A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Marketing, Cooperative Management, or any related field in commerce or social sciences is required.
A minimum of seven years of pertinent experience is required, including at least five years in a leadership capacity within a financial institution, microfinance bank, cooperative, or credit organization.
Accomplished professional with extensive expertise in marketing, credit administration, accounting, loan management, and team leadership.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and proficiency with tools such as Excel, SQL, and Power BI is essential. Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail are critical. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to convey complex information clearly. Prior experience in a similar role within the financial services sector is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field is required; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are advantageous. Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards and risk management frameworks is a plus.
