JOB PURPOSEProvide excellent teaching and learning for GCSE Maths and English and support the raising of standards in accordance with the corporate aims and strategic objectives of the organisation.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTypical tasks that may be carried out include:
Planning, developing and executing lessons that reflect the curriculum
Completing a syllabus within an academic year.
Planning and developing lesson plans and teaching outlines
Teaching students in such a manner that they understand the subject and gain knowledge.
Assigning homework, checking them and giving feedback to students.
Grading assignments and exam papers.
Evaluating student progress and the ability to meet courses standards in mathematical knowledge and skills
Giving tips to students to improve their performance.
Helping students in tackling math problems.
Making use of different methods to simplify and explain complex math problems
Preparing information for inspection visits and other quality assurance exercises;
Freelance teaching on a one-to-one basis;
Basic administration, such as keeping student registers and attendance records.
Devising, writing and producing new materials, including audio and visual resources;
Organising and getting involved in social and cultural activities such as sports competitions, school parties, dinners and excursions;
Attending and contributing to training sessions
QUALIFICATION
Degree in Education, Mathematics , English or any related field
A track record of successful delivery of Maths and English in an Elementary school
3 to 5 years’ cognate experience
Strong commitment to team working.
Experience of young people and related issues.
Awareness of, and a commitment to, the promotion of equal opportunities and the recognition of diversity.
The ability to plan and deliver imaginative and motivational sessions with a clear focus on the needs of the individual learner.
An understanding of different learning styles and how to differentiate through various teaching methods.
Ability to motivate self and learners
Work effectively with wide range of staff and students and have an ability to build successful working relationships with appropriate curriculum teams
Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, both with young people and a wide range of professionals, both within the establishment and in the community.
Excellent organisational and administrative skills
