Supply Planner Specialist

Job Profile:
Summary Objective: To ensure that the supply of materials meets the production schedule and minimum stock levels to ensure operational and production continuity. The Supply Planner is responsible for optimizing the balance of inventory across the supply chain network in line with target customer service levels, levels of forecast accuracy and safety stock levels, for the allocated portfolio of SKU’s for which she/he is accountable. Plans and prepares production schedules for the factory.
Key Responsibilities:

Implement and maintain Inventory and Material Management Strategies for all Finished Goods by regular review and optimization of inventory parameters and levels (e.g. reorder pt, safety stock, ABC categorization)
Conduct root causes analysis for supply chain issues/variances and perform define corrective action plans to avoid reoccurrence.
Identify and manage potential inventory obsolescence to minimize write-offs (finished goods and raw materials)
Understand and manage risks to minimize the impact on production schedule
Identify and coordinate advance notice, input and resolution of material shortages/overages.
To utilize any Material Requirements Planning system (MRP) or IT system that is in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required
Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy
Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organization
Anticipate potential problems and risks, and generates ideas, insight and solutions to resolve or “head off” potential problems, followed by decisive action to implement solutions.
Analyze data to determine opportunities to decrease inventory, improve customer service levels, and reduce total costs in order to support lean manufacturing activities.
Conduct regular business and performance reviews with Demand Planners, Marketing, and Manufacturing.

Skills and Attributes

Strong computer skills and knowledge of MS Office and ability to learn new software/programs as opportunities or department needs arise
Strong analytical, planning and problem-solving skills
Commercial and financial awareness with a full understanding of how failure impacts the costs, production, manufacture and customer order fulfillment
Good communicator with the ability to form and maintain good relationships internally and externally
Strong interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills
Results orientated and organized with the ability to plan and deliver against deadlines
Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow-up and follow-through skills.
Knowledge of materials management theories, processes, and practices
An enquiring mind.

Qualification:

Min. 3 years experience in Material/Supply Planning in FMCG Sector
ERP Knowledge in either (SAP, SAGE, NAVISION etc)
Possess HND/BSc in Sciences, Engineering or any other related courses
