Technical Sales Manager

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Technical presentation and pre-sales support to the clients.
Coordination of technical support and identification of the appropriate support packages for dedicated key accounts.
Acceptance, prioritization and management as well as follow up on incoming clients requirements and feature requests based on existing processes communicating to all related interface departments.
Identification of SCSP Unique Selling Points (USP) by means of competitor analysis. As a result of the analysis found and develop “Selling Against” Arguments.
Coordination of technical communication between the clients & SCSP operation team
Advising clients of updates and new technologies
Being familiar with competitors’ activities and products
Putting together proposals and tender documents
Travelling to and attending meetings
Meeting sales and commission targets
Maintain complete and accurate records and reports on clients, sales transactions and business development and activities.
Ensure, sustain and maintain business relationships with all clients.
Develop relationship with architects, consultants and key influencer.
Analyse, develop, implement and follow-up on business development approach for end user groups.
Present, discuss, adjust and follow-up on technical and commercial solutions with end-users, consultants, influencers and construction companies.
Actively get involved in projects specifications, tender documents and budgetary quotes.
Active use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
Develop and maintain the image with existing and potential partners and other stakeholders.
Plan and organize influencer events; participate if required in trade shows, congresses and support PR activities.
Maintain database of proposals, contacts, and communications with customers
Forecast, solicit and secure orders from potential and existing customers
Research and identify potential customers for SCSP products and services
Maintain knowledge of competitive products including price, performance and application
Secure opportunities to quote on customer requirements in applicable markets
Understand customer processes and sell value versus price
Utilize solutions-based selling skills
Maintain professional relationships with key decision makers on all accounts

Job Attributes/Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
Successful track record in developing and implementing effective sales and marketing strategies
Keen awareness of clients preferences, ability to adapt quickly to new market trends and a strong drive for results
Proven experience in solution selling
A willingness to work both independently and as part of a highly skilled team
Must be able to present in a professional manner and possess excellent presentation and communication skills
Proficient skills with MS Office is required
Outstanding sales preparation and organization skills
Creative problem solving
Ability to motivate, coach, and teach others.

Minimum Experience:

Minimum 4 years’ cognate experience (preferably in Fire business), with wide network of contacts throughout the West African region.

Competencies:

Active use of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool.
Develop and maintain the image with existing and potential partners and other stakeholders.
Commercial attitude, existing network/knowledge of consultants, construction companies, architects and end users is an asset.
Able to learn and understand the products technically and support customers in technical questions.
Product knowledge in Fire systems, HSE products, Access, CCTV, and Intrusion is a plus.
Ability to communicate at top-level with professional organizations.
Good skills in MS-Office (word, excel, PowerPoint etc.)
Willingness to travel frequently
Experienced in organizing trainings, seminars, trade-shows and giving presentations.
Good analytical skills
Excellent communicator and business relationship builder.
Open minded person, team player
Ability to deal with pressure

Language:

Proficiency in English Language (Written & Spoken) is a must.
