Job Summary

HR Leverage Africa is currently seeking a dynamic Canteen Manager for one of its clients. The successful candidate will oversee the canteen as a standalone business, handling all operational aspects, workforce management, financial planning, expenditure monitoring, procurement, performance reporting, and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction in a fast-paced food service setting.

Oversee critical operational tasks to ensure seamless organizational functionality, including managing key projects, coordinating cross-functional teams, and maintaining adherence to established policies and procedures. Serve as a primary liaison between senior leadership and departmental teams, facilitating clear communication and alignment of strategic objectives. Analyze performance metrics and identify areas for improvement to enhance efficiency and productivity across the organization. Additionally, develop and implement innovative solutions to address challenges, while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal guidelines.

Responsible for managing the day-to-day functioning of the canteen, including the preparation of meals, delivery of services, and optimization of operational workflows.

Responsible for overseeing all team members, including chefs, cooks, stewards, cleaners, and storekeepers, while coordinating and managing shift schedules to ensure smooth daily operations.

Monitor food expenditure vigilantly while overseeing budget adherence, minimizing waste, and optimizing inventory utilization to ensure operational efficiency and financial accountability.

Oversee the procurement process and cultivate strategic alliances with suppliers to ensure seamless collaboration and optimal value delivery.

Maintain unwavering adherence to HACCP protocols, hygiene regulations, and food safety standards to uphold operational excellence and regulatory compliance.

Compile comprehensive operational reports on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, encompassing detailed cost evaluations and performance assessments.

Act as the primary point of contact between client requirements and canteen service delivery, facilitating seamless communication and coordination to ensure operational alignment.

Deliver consistently high-quality service to uphold customer satisfaction at all times.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar reporting tools would be beneficial to this role.

Requires demonstrated expertise in one or more of the following capacities: Canteen Manager, Restaurant Manager overseeing high-volume operations, Hospitality Operations Manager, or Catering Manager.
