Girl Effect seeks to harness the power of brands to promote gender norm change and create new realities where girls have agency, are more educated, healthier, economically secure and safe. This happens through a number of gender transformative initiatives, including our Girl Networks work. The Gender team is a core function of Girl Effect’s integrated strategy where brand and gender expertise are at the heart of everything we do. The Gender team is the technical function of the organisation that integrates gender expertise into Girl Effect’s unique approach to social norm change. The Gender team provides gender and adolescent girls expertise to existing products and processes such as GEM, TEGA, evidence and brand work streams. Girl Networks is one of Girl Effect’s products that brings together girls and others to increasetheir engagement with our branded products and ultimately to deepen outcomes and impact for girls. Currently in Nigeria, we deliver our Girl Networks activities through Girls Connect, an initiative that provides girls with on-demand content and conversations with role models through digital technology. As we develop and launch a culture brand in Nigeria, the Girl Networks’ portfolio will explore additional ways in which girls and boys have time and space to meaningfully engage with the brand also through clubs and safe spaces. Through our Girl Networks initiative, Girl Effect supports and enables girls to create change on issues important to them, builds girls’ internal resilience, knowledge, skills and strong connections that enable them to work together and with the people in their lives to bring about substantial change for all girls.Context of the role
As part of the Gender team, the Gender and Girl Networks Manager is responsible for supporting the country office’s overall implementation of Girl Effect’s Gender strategy with a
focus on the successful development and delivery of the Girl Networks product portfolio.
