Responsibilities:
Assist senior team members in determining the investment strategy for the firm and its funds
Review and assess potential investment opportunities from a market opportunity/commercial perspective
Oversee the technical and commercial due diligence exercises of third party vendors on potential investee companies
Coordinate post-investment portfolio operations and management plans for presentation to the investment committee and the advisory board of the firm
Work with portfolio companies to determine monthly key performance indices (“KPIs”) and monitor these KPIs
Work with portfolio companies to determine their growth strategies and determine hiring needs within portfolio companies as needed
Prepare and present quarterly portfolio company operations reports as a part of management’s quarterly reports to the limited partners of the Fund
Assist other senior team members with the integration of various related investments/acquisitions
Assist other senior team members in determining the necessary business development plans for portfolio companies
On an as-needed basis, assist portfolio companies with their sales negotiations, procurements and other operational requirements
Manage mid-level and junior level staff of the investment manager as needed
Qualifications and Experience:
Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in agriculture economics or other agricultural-related field from an accredited university preferred
10+ years of combined work experience in the foods/agribusiness sectors (within any field of the agricultural value chain) or management of a foods/agribusiness company
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Willingness to be based in Lagos, Nigeria with significant travel within and outside of Nigeria required
A team player with strong coaching and leadership skills
