Summary/Overview
The INSPIRE-MoMent study Research Assistant (RA) will provide technical and administrative support for the study’s field implementation, data collection and analysis, and manuscript development.
The RA is expected to spend approximately 25% of their time in the field and 75% in the central office.
Residence in FCT or within 1 hour’s drive of the Central Business District is a requirement. The study is in year 3 of its 4-year funding.
Duties and Responsibilities
Field and Central Office validation, entry and cleaning of study data
Support Research Associates and Data Manager to supervise up to 15 field staff in the collection and reporting of quality data
Maintain one or more electronic study databases as well as hard copy data archives
Support up to 3 Central Office Data Assistants in maintaining ancillary databases.
Collection, collation and development of monthly study reports and summaries
Provide ad-hoc data reports to PI and funder
Develop and update Standard Operating Procedures
Participate in routine completion of study forms and data collection tools as necessary
Work alongside study statistician, epidemiologist and Health Economist to prepare databases for statistical and economic analysis
Participate in academic research activity including but not limited to abstract writing, data analysis and manuscript development.
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor of Science or equivalent
At least 2 years’ working experience post NYSC service.
High-level proficiency in using Excel, Microsoft Access or other software
At least mid-level proficiency in using SPSS or SAS statistical software
Experience developing tools, collecting and analyzing data for at least 1 research project
Additional Qualifications/Experience Desired:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent
