The Senior Business Development Consultant will be responsible for planning and coordinating all the client’s sales and marketing activities. He/She will work to improve the client’s market position and achieve financial growth. He/she will be responsible for defining the client’s long-term organizational strategic goals, building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities, negotiating and closing business deals and maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions. He/She will also work with the internal team members, product development teams, marketing staff, and other managers to drive placement opportunities and thereby maximize revenue for the company. He/She will find potential new clients, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow business in the future. He/she will also help manage existing clients and ensure they stay satisfied and positive.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the marketing and sales functions
Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business
Research and build relationships with new clients
Set up meetings between client and company’s executive team
Work with team to develop proposals that speak to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives
Participate in pricing the solution/service.
Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
Present an image that mirrors that of the client.
Present new services and enhance existing relationships.
Work with placed staff and other internal colleagues to meet client’s needs.
Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs.
Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and channels.
Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and channels that will lead to an increase in placement.
Using knowledge of the market and competitors, identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators together with top management team.
Forecast targets and ensure they are met.
Prepare and submit periodic progress reports to management team.
Requirements 4 – 6 years of experience in consultative sales experience, with proven sales results
Expert project management skills and attention to detail
Extensive knowledge of digital marketing and channels management
Measurable track record of success in external sales/business development.
Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
Computer skills/proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to effectively function and operate in a rapidly changing and diverse environment.
Proactively seek and assess opportunities, plan, implement and evaluate results.
Ability to cope with difficult and/or urgent situations requiring immediate decisions.
Well organized and the ability to multi-task.
Bachelor of Science(2:1) in Marketing or equivalent working experience
An MBA would be an added advantage
