Duties The duties and responsibilities of the post will be those usually carried out by the Director (Clinical Nursing) of a big teaching hospital of international repute which specifically shall among others include the following:
Assisting the Management in setting and achieving the overall Clinical Nursing objectives of the institution.
Fostering a close collaboration with other Heads of Clinical Service Departments for functional effectiveness and efficiency.
Coordinating the work of all sections and units within the Clinical Nursing Department of the Hospital.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess RN,RM plus B.Sc. (Nursing) or Bachelor of Nursing Science degree with relevant postgraduate degree as well as a minimum of 15 years post basic qualification and wide administrative experience at the level of an Assistant Director (Clinical Nursing) in a teaching hospital.
In addition, candidates must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
Applicants must have taken part in the NYSC Programme or be exempted from it. Possession of a current professional practicing license is mandatory.
Candidates below the level of an Assistant/Deputy Director (Clinical Nursing) on CONHESS 14 need not apply.
Applicants must have five credit passes (Including English Language and Mathematics) in WASCE/GCE/NECO at not more than TWO sittings from the same examination body.
Condition of Service These are similar to those obtained in the Federal Public Service.
