Vice Chancellor Registrar Bursar

Our Client, an educational organization of high repute is looking for qualified men and women of proven character and commitment to selfless service, national and international academic standing, with a high level of creativity, innovation and financial acumen, to fill the following vacancy.The Vice-Chancellor shall be the principal Chief Academic officer of the University and Chairman of the Senate. He/She will implement the policies of the University Council and to ensure that the University’s resources are used in ways that most effectively advance the approved mission and strategic plan of the University.RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide academic and administrative leadership to the whole University.
S/He shall provide Leadership and Direction to the University through policy foundation, development and implementation to ensure accountability and responsibility for efficient and effective compliance with the university Law, Statutes, rules regulations, policies and procedures.
Exercise influence and advocacy on behalf of the University and its interests, through active engagement with external groups and individuals
Lead development activities, including the reinforcement of the University’s reputation and scope.
S/he shall by virtue of office be a member of the Council, the Senate, the Colleges, Schools, Institutes and any other authority of the university set up by the Senate and or any Board or Committee appointed by any of those bodies.
S/He shall be the principal officer of the university responsible to the Governing council for the organisation and conduct of the business of the university.
Lead the senior team of the Pro-Vice-Chancellors and the Registrar, personally monitoring their performance in pursuit of the University’s overall mission and for the fulfilment of policies established by the various governing and legislative bodies;
Ensure that the governance and administration of the University achieve the University’s objectives in a timely, inclusive and purposeful way.
Prepare annual estimates of income and expenditure in line with the provisions of the law and statutes of the university.
Exercise leadership to secure a sustainable financial base sufficient to allow the delivery of the University’s mission, aims and objectives and
Carry out ceremonial and civic duties.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Must have served in various roles in academic administration and other essential areas in a reputable university. 
Academic and research exposure and connection to international reputable universities will be an added advantage.
A strong entrepreneurial sense, ability to lead and manage academic staff and other diverse categories of staff and students, based on positive moral values and interpersonal relationships are requirements for this position.
A high level of ICT Mastery and competency is also required for this position

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS

A doctorate degree (Ph.D.) is a  prerequisite for this position and further qualifications in Management and/or Finances will be an advantage.
He/she must have been a full professor for at least 10 years with a track record of research outputs and academic publications in accredited Journals.
The Vice Chancellor must sign a Performance Contract and will be subjected to annual performance appraisal.
