Reporting to the Managing Director, This role is an exciting opportunity for a commercially orientated professional to support the growth of the business in a demanding, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. This is a role that affords the successful candidate an opportunity to be a true business partner to the MD and provides a chance for a top performer to join the Board, within 3 years. Corporate Business,
Retail Business
Education Business,
Technical/Quality Assurance.
Summary of Responsibilities
Day to day management of all the business units in the organization. Institute and implement policies. procedures, systems and processes to ensure smooth running of the organization to achieve the strategic goal ofthe Board which is to triple the EBITDA for this business in the next 3 years Key Responsibilities
Direct internal operations to achieve budgeted results
Responsible for the development and preparation of short-term plans and budqets to achieve broad organization goals and Objectives. Recommends their adoption to the Chief Executive Officer
Direct the development of procedures and control sto promote effective communication through adequate information flow, resulting in management efficiency
Develop and establish operating policies consistent with the Company’s broad policies and objectives and ensure their execution
Appraise and evaluate operations performance periodically and systematically, and reports to the CEO
Establish policies to ensure efficient management and human capital development to provide for capable management succession for those functions/business units falling under his/her responsibility.
Ensures that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with enabling local, state and federal regulations and laws
Directs new business coordination. promotion and communication.
Represents the CEO at various fora and makes presentations to promote the organization and win new business across all business units.
Candidates to be considered, you must be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Good personal presence and a strong leadership style combined with a confident, rational, collegiate and hard-working approach are critical to the success of this role. The appointed candidate must be commercially aware and possess the ability to inspire and influence people at all levels
Highly visionary and entrepreneurial skills with demonstrable leadership ability
Commercially aware, action orientated with proven track record in managing and growing a multi-branch, multi division, multi-billion naira business in a fast-paced, consumer, FMCG, business services or significant retail organization
Particularly astute in improving margins, increasing profitability and enhancing shareholder value
The credibility to act as a high profile COO and have the expertise and personality to influence all internal and external stakeholders
Excellent leadership skills and the intellect and commercial acumen to make an immediate impact on the business and within the company
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree.
Post graduate qualifications are an advantage but not a requirement.
Certifications and professional qualifications are an advantage but not a requirement.
Minimum of 10 years experience in similar position
