Head of Business Development

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Contribute to the development and refinement of Company’s vision and strategy 
Support the overall process of management and corporate decision-making to ensure the organization maximizes its short, medium and long-term profitability and shareholder returns
Liaise with other executive heads on the implementation of the company’s strategic and operational plans
Develop, review, and report on the business development division’s strategy, ensuring the strategic objectives are well understood and executed by the team

Management of the Overall Business Development Function Including: 

Impact the profitability of the company through ensuring strategic and tactical management decisions and new business development results
Marketing
Competitor and market analysis
Develop and lead the Business Development team in sourcing, managing and implementing new business opportunities
Ensure efficient and effective marketing, advertising and promotional planning
Maintain and develop organizational culture, values and reputation in its markets and with all staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulatory/official bodies
Serve as the principal point of contact for the core sales team and proposal leaders; ensure proposal delivery by managing proposal production schedules; effect all bid negotiations and arrange for all feedback and process improvement actions
Facilitate communication between the customer, Project Manager (PMO), Business Development Unit and Development team for the new product being offered
Responsible for driving the complete negotiation and evaluation process, including: organizing pitch meetings, coordinating due diligence trips
Planning and preparing presentations, administering accounts and writing reports
Preparing detailed business plans which cover relevant goals and objectives
Establishing and maintaining working relationships with all clients
Sales processes put in place by end of Q1 and reviewed bi-annually, Company standards communicated to entire team
Develop relationships with customer key executives, explore opportunities to cross / up sell, ensure timely resolution of key escalations / concerns from customer and put in place mitigation plan.
Develop draft proposals based on team meetings and discussions
Excellent Customer Orientation, Communication, Leadership, Result Orientation, Business Acumen, Negotiation, Team Skills and Organization & Planning. Should be an expert in negotiating on a greater scale.
Has understanding and experience of the sales pipeline; ability to qualify, scope and close opportunities, managing relationships across different customer and internal groups and can effectively manage a sales team.
