Job Objectives:Assess, monitor, plan and manage the efficient utilization of cash in a manner that is consistent with the objectives and operational goals of the Business UnitKey Responsibilities:
1) Own, direct and manage the end-to-end process of ensuring the conversion of earned daily revenues into banked, available cash within agreed timelines, ensuring that:• A minimum level of 95% is achieved at all times• All cash banking processes are constantly improved until same day bank recognition of deposits are achieved2) Manage and own the liquidity position of the business unit, ensuring that it is continuously able to meet ALL its obligations as and when due, by:• Developing operating cash flow forecasts which are constantly evaluated actual cash utilization• Evaluating, developing and implementing cash management systems to optimize efficiencies in responses to challenges faced by the business.• Aggressively implementing strategies to address challenges which may arise from limited cash flow if and when they arise• Undertaking regular reconciliation of bank accounts to eliminate the incidence of posting of wrong transactions and timely reversals of such wrongly posted entries if they do occur• Enforcing full compliance with the treasury and cash management guidelines issued by the FCPL for all its operating businesses3) Manage all bank relationships on behalf of the Company, ensuring that:• The performance of all banks are constantly evaluated against expectations• The best rates and fees are secured for services rendered in conjunction with the Chief Finance Officer.4) Remain up to date with regard to financial requirements and arrangements, advising managers of all relevant changes and interpreting new guidelines to enable a full understanding by staff.5) Liaise with all internal and external audit functions, ensuring that relevant information is supplied, assisting with financial accounting related reviews and driving the implementation of recommendations for procedural changes6) Provide business analysis and decision support to the Chief Finance Officer through both proactive and reactive cash utilization analysis and also by offering advice on cost management strategies as required.7) Build capacity within the Finance team of the business by:• Continually reviewing the capability needed to support the team unit in delivering on outcomes and ensure action is taken to address identified capability gaps within the Finance function• Provide development opportunities for direct reports that challenge and expand their capability• Provide leadership that inspires others to succeed and develop, and proactively share experience, knowledge and ideas• Ensuring that performance objectives are clearly defined for all job roles within the team and that all staff members are evaluated against agreed performance objectives at pre-defined periods set by the HR function• Coaching and counseling team members as necessary
Key Measurement/Result Areas (covering all perspectives of the FC Balanced Scorecard):
1) Accuracy of Reports/Release in line with agreed timing2) Enforcement of issued policies company policy across the Business unit as measured through number & frequency of breaches3) Accuracy of payment transactions4) Effectiveness of working capital management5) Effectiveness of cash management strategies (accuracy of cash forecasts, cash availability for operations, daily banking percentage, number & age of reconciling items on bank statements, value, number and age of wrong debits on bank statements etc)6) Team development and management
Qualifications : Functional Requirements/Skills:
1) Practical and thorough understanding of the principles of Accounting & Financial Management2) Extensive experience in preparing cash forecasts and cash flow analyses.3) Basic experience in building complex financial models to evaluate various financial plans.4) Experience of managing teams with a range of capabilities5) Good knowledge of investment portfolio strategy, banking, and financial instruments.
General Requirements/Skills:
1) Strong analytical skills2) Good written and oral communication skills, able to communicate complex financial matters to non-technical experts3) Strong commercial awareness4) Ability to bring a “hands on” approach to the work if needed5) Positive “can do” spirit6) Basic understanding of operations in the Food industry

Educational Qualifications/Experience:
1) Minimum of university degree or equivalent2) Between 3 – 5 years working experience in a Finance function3) Possession of a recognized professional accounting qualification
