Job Summary Lead the finance operations team in managing and controlling company-wide expenditure/payment cycle as well as manage commitments/liabilities recognition processIdentify gaps in developing finance related policies and processes, ensure sufficient /finance customer management system while safe-guarding company assets Principal Functions
Provide leadership in guiding finance operations staff and other internal stakeholders on periodic internal and external audits and other statutory and regulatory requirements
Establish and manage effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
Provide input into the development and implementation of of companies strategic projects
Keep abreast of local and global best practices as it relates to the unit’s activities.
Identify and develop required resources (personnel and others) to achieve the unit’s goals
Continuous review of the units activities, recommend improvement initiatives and implement approved initiatives to ensure enhanced performance for the team
Proactively manage company’s financial risks and safeguard company’s asset
Develop, review and monitor financial procedures and controls in the light of identified risks and gaps
Demonstrate applicable working knowledge of NCC, NOTAP, CBN rules and regulations pertaining to the telecommunications industry
Coordinate an effective customer (internal) and supplier relationship management
Coordinate and ensure team’s performance within the period end reporting timelines based on group’s directives and guidelines
Make informed decisions from analysed data to facilitate operational efficiency
Coordinate the development of an effective reporting system to ensure prompt preparation of reliable information for decision making by top management
Review and monitor enhanced financial transaction posting process to ensure company’s financial and information is of agreed quality and integrity
Coordinate the planning and management of corporate income and state taxes (deduction, account analysis, reconciliations and periodic remittance)
Develop and ensure compliance with approved internal controls to ensure the integrity of the general ledger vendor’s sub ledgers and the accrual process
Coordinate the management and reconciliation of supplier account in the system
Provide support to the various business divisions and regions on financial issues and maintain commercial relationships with external stakeholders
Develop department service level agreement and review reports on key performance index
Ensure the provision of top class finance customer service for all internal and external clients
Review, develop and monitor implementation of best practice finance processes and policies
Ensure compliance with Etisalat policies and processes IFRS, IAS, GAAP
Carry out other activities as instructed by the Director, Finance Operations
Educational Requirements
First degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized university.
An MBA or relevant post-graduate/ professional qualification CIMA, CFA,ACCA, ICAN, etc)
Experience, Skills & Competencies
Nine (9) to twelve (12) years work experience, with at least three (3) years in a managerial role
