Technology for Social Change and Development Initiative (Tech4Dev) is a non-profit organization established in 2016 with a mission to empower African communities through digital literacy. Recognizing the urgent need to address the widening skills gap in the evolving job market, Tech4Dev provides training in foundational digital skills, programming, and essential competencies required for future employment. Over the years, the organization has designed and executed impactful initiatives that inspire, advocate, and equip individuals with the tools necessary to thrive in an increasingly digital economy. With Africa’s youth disproportionately engaged in low-quality employment and facing limited pathways to sustainable growth, Tech4Dev addresses this challenge by preparing young people for decent work as traditional, low-skilled roles continue to diminish in the face of automation.
