Sea learn is looking for an accomplished and seasoned Senior Lecturer in Maritime Studies to enhance our esteemed faculty. The successful applicant must demonstrate exceptional academic qualifications along with practical industry expertise. Responsibilities include instructing students, designing and refining curricula, and developing and delivering engaging educational content.

The role involves facilitating simulation sessions and hands-on exercises, conducting research, providing mentorship, and actively supporting the academic and professional advancement of the institution.

Oversee a wide range of critical responsibilities to ensure operational excellence and drive organizational success. Develop and implement strategic initiatives that enhance productivity, efficiency, and overall performance. Lead cross-functional teams to foster collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources while ensuring adherence to company policies and industry standards. Monitor key performance indicators to assess progress and identify opportunities for growth. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to cultivate talent and strengthen capabilities. Serve as a primary liaison between departments, stakeholders, and senior leadership to align objectives and facilitate seamless communication.

Develop, evaluate, and revise curriculum content to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements, such as those set by the IMO and STCW, as well as evolving industry standards.

Develop engaging and pedagogically sound course materials—such as presentations, simulation exercises, and practical mockups—to ensure the effective transfer of knowledge and skills to learners.

The role involves delivering exceptional lectures, seminars, and hands-on training sessions across key disciplines, including navigation and marine engineering, maritime safety, cargo operations and repair and maintenance, commercial operations, environmental protection, and related fields.

Oversee and evaluate courseware created by Junior faculty, offering constructive feedback and guidance to facilitate their development.

Responsible for overseeing student projects, dissertations, and assessments.

Conduct in-depth research and compose scholarly articles for distinguished journals and maritime-focused publications. Additionally, represent Sea Learn by delivering compelling presentations at esteemed seminars and conferences, thereby elevating the organization’s professional standing.

Offer guidance and mentorship to junior faculty members and students alike, providing support in both academic and professional development.

Engage actively in internal committees, quality assurance initiatives, and accreditation processes to uphold organizational standards and compliance.

Partner with maritime industry stakeholders and regulatory bodies to ensure training programs remain aligned with industry needs and enhance graduate employability.

Play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and executing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) initiatives aimed at fostering ongoing learning and skill enhancement among professionals.

Seeking candidates with a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline, complemented by a CPA designation, is essential. Minimum of five years of progressive experience in audit, taxation, or financial advisory roles is required. Proficiency in GAAP, tax regulations, and financial reporting standards is mandatory. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are crucial for success in this position. Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with ERP systems are preferred.

A prestigious professional certification, such as a Master Class I or a Marine Engineer Officer Class I Certificate of Competency (for example, Master Mariner or Chief Engineer), issued by a respected Flag administration, is required.

A master’s degree or PhD in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a closely aligned discipline is preferred.

Holds a valid certification from an Administration-approved Train the Trainer program, ensuring compliance with established standards for instructional excellence. This role requires demonstrated expertise in designing, delivering, and evaluating professional development programs to equip trainers with essential skills. Responsibilities include mentoring trainers, assessing instructional effectiveness, and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices. Strong communication, leadership, and facilitation skills are essential to foster a collaborative learning environment.

The Simulator Trainer program encompasses courses dedicated to the Assessment, Examination, and Certification of Seafarers, ensuring comprehensive training and qualification processes.

With a minimum of two decades of expertise in maritime education or professional roles within the seagoing and shore-based maritime sectors, candidates are expected to demonstrate extensive knowledge and proficiency in the field.

Possesses in-depth knowledge of international maritime regulations, particularly the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watch keeping (STCW). Demonstrates proven expertise in instructional design and curriculum development within a higher education setting.

Ideally, the candidate will have completed an instructional design training program.

Proficiency in academic research or industry-driven projects is highly desirable.
