Role Brief
The Assistant Production Manager (Oil Palm) is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of production by implementing production plans into daily operations and enhancing the utilization of manpower, machinery, materials, and methods (4M).
This position is tasked with achieving production targets while effectively managing labor costs, reducing downtime and waste, upholding quality standards, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
Oversee a comprehensive range of critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational execution, and team leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and fostering a high-performance culture. Drive project management initiatives, monitor progress against established benchmarks, and implement corrective measures as needed to maintain efficiency and accountability. Collaborate cross-functionally with stakeholders to streamline processes, optimize resource allocation, and enhance interdepartmental communication. Lead performance reviews, mentor team members, and develop talent through targeted coaching and professional growth opportunities. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, internal policies, and quality standards while mitigating risks and resolving operational challenges proactively.
Translate weekly and monthly production schedules into detailed daily shift plans, ensuring alignment with operational goals and resource availability.
Responsible for strategically assigning workforce, equipment, and resources to ensure seamless and efficient production operations.
Track production output, analyze any reductions, and establish corrective measures to address shortfalls.
Oversee attendance tracking, schedule shift assignments, monitor overtime hours, and ensure payroll precision.
Monitor machine functionality, downtime occurrences, and maintenance scheduling to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
Enforce established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintain compliance with stringent quality benchmarks, and implement effective waste management protocols to uphold operational excellence.
Oversee production expenditures while spearheading initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, proper utilization of personal protective equipment (PPE), and prompt reporting of any incidents.
Compile precise daily production and operational reports to ensure comprehensive documentation and real-time tracking of operational activities.
Oversee team discipline, performance, and workforce development initiatives to ensure optimal productivity and professional growth.
Seeking a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least three years of professional experience in a comparable role. Proficiency in industry-standard software and tools is essential, along with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. The ideal applicant should demonstrate a track record of delivering results in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail and adaptability. Additional requirements include the ability to work independently, collaborate effectively in team settings, and manage multiple priorities with efficiency. Familiarity with project management methodologies and compliance standards is also preferred.
Education requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Production Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

4–8 years of hands-on experience in oil palm plantation operations is required.

Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in relevant programming languages, software development methodologies, and tools pertinent to the role. Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous learning in technical domains.
