The Regional Coordinator – Technical Programs serves as a senior technical authority, overseeing the coordination and leadership of Africa CDC’s primary technical programs and initiatives within the Regional Coordinating Centre. This role delivers advanced technical guidance, facilitates the standardized execution of Africa CDC strategies across Member States, and guarantees the seamless integration of surveillance, laboratory, preparedness and response, and workforce development initiatives at the regional level.

The successful candidate will also facilitate the integration and strengthening of the Africa Health Security and Sovereignty Agenda (AHS) pillars—particularly digital health, Public Financial Management, and the Supply Chain/African Pooled Procurement Mechanism (PPM)—across Member States within the Regional Collaborating Centre (RCC).

The incumbent reports directly to RCC Leadership and collaborates closely with technical divisions at Africa CDC Headquarters.

Oversee daily operations to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and effectively, focusing on maintaining high standards of quality and productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives and streamline workflows, fostering a cohesive and results-driven environment. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance operational excellence and compliance with organizational goals. The Regional Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing regional operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. The position involves responsibilities related to Surveillance, Laboratory, and Information Systems, requiring expertise in monitoring, analyzing data, and managing technological resources to ensure operational efficiency and compliance with standards. Establish and enforce technical standards, key performance indicators, and comprehensive dashboards while maintaining rigorous quality assurance for every technical deliverable generated by the RCC.
