The Packing Plant Operator oversees the seamless and productive functioning of machinery and processes within the cement packing facility. This position entails verifying that cement is accurately packed, measured, and shipped in alignment with production goals, all while upholding stringent safety protocols, quality benchmarks, and workplace cleanliness standards.

Oversee and execute a range of critical duties and responsibilities essential to the role’s success, including but not limited to managing daily operations, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring adherence to organizational policies and procedures. Develop and implement strategic initiatives to drive efficiency, productivity, and continuous improvement across all assigned functions. Collaborate closely with senior leadership to align departmental objectives with broader company goals, fostering a culture of accountability and innovation. Monitor performance metrics, analyze trends, and provide data-driven recommendations to optimize workflows and enhance overall operational effectiveness. Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries, resolving conflicts, and maintaining strong professional relationships. Additionally, ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and ethical guidelines while promoting a safe and inclusive work environment.

Ensure the accomplishment of the packing objective, such as processing 750 metric tons of cement during each twelve-hour shift.

At the commencement of each shift, report directly to the Shift Manager to obtain detailed instructions and assigned tasks.

Conduct thorough shift handover and takeover procedures to maintain seamless operational continuity.

Operate packing plant machinery, including packers, autoloaders, and other equipment, with efficiency, ideally in automatic (auto) mode.

Regularly verify the weight of each cement bag to ensure compliance with the 50 kg standard, promptly escalating any discrepancies to the Supervisor for resolution.

Stack and label damaged or rejected bags precisely in designated areas to ensure contamination and loss are prevented.

Ensure the packing area remains staffed at all times; refrain from leaving the workstation unattended throughout operations.

Prior authorization must be secured before departing from the designated work area for any purpose.

Ensure a clean and safe work environment by systematically removing rejected materials and maintaining orderly housekeeping standards.

Perform regular equipment inspections and promptly notify the Shift Supervisor or Maintenance team of any mechanical malfunctions or process irregularities.

Facilitate a seamless transition of information and responsibilities to the incoming operator upon completion of the shift.

Compliance with all organizational policies and established safety protocols is mandatory, encompassing adherence to ISO Management Systems such as Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSA).

The ideal candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills are essential. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities are required, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment is crucial. Prior experience in project management or a similar role is highly desirable.

A recognized technical qualification such as WAS, GCE, SSC, or a Trade Test at Levels I, II, or III in a pertinent technical discipline—including Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Maintenance—is required.

Requires a minimum of two to nine years of hands-on experience in cement packing, manufacturing processes, or industrial operational environments.

Proficiency in interpreting, composing, and adhering to standard operating procedures is essential.

Proficient in fostering clear and effective communication, as well as collaborating seamlessly within a team environment.

Capable of executing both manual and technical duties with a high level of physical fitness and proficiency.

Demonstrates a meticulous approach to tasks and a steadfast commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
