This role is pivotal in advancing the missionaries’ purpose to ‘Invite others to come unto Christ by assisting them in embracing the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.’ Teachers serve as entry-level contributors, providing essential training to missionaries across diverse settings and subjects. Training may encompass language proficiency, gospel doctrine instruction aligned with *Preach My Gospel*, and the development of missionary skills. Teachers may instruct both junior and senior missionaries prior to their entry into the MTC, during their time at the MTC, and even after their departure. They adhere to an approved curriculum and may be chosen to engage in pilot programs and special initiatives.
Oversee and execute all assigned duties to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and on schedule. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align efforts and resolve any operational challenges that may arise. Develop and implement strategies to enhance productivity, streamline processes, and maintain high standards of quality. Monitor progress through regular evaluations and provide actionable feedback to team members to foster continuous improvement. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices to mitigate risks and uphold organizational integrity. The role reports directly to a trainer or supervisor within the Training department.
Delivers guidance, mentorship, and constructive input to missionaries across various instructional formats, including individualized coaching sessions, small group discussions, large-scale training workshops, and oversight of Canvas engagement activities such as discussion forums and course participation.
Plans and develops lesson plans in accordance with the approved curriculum, collaborating with a companion teacher (where applicable) to ensure the missionary’s needs are met.
Oversees missionaries in organizing and managing their educational planning and financial accountability.
Implements guidance and instruction provided by the Teacher Trainer/Supervisor, the Manager of Training, and the Senior Manager of Training.
Attends weekly training sessions and collaborates in co-teacher coordination meetings.
Provides support to regional leadership in facilitating collaboration with mission and Missionary Department leadership upon request.
Provides updates to leadership regarding the status and advancement of assigned responsibilities.
Coaches provide guidance and support to missionaries, facilitating their preparation for and participation in practice sessions and live lessons.
Candidates might be required to help evaluate the language proficiency of prospective missionaries and teacher applicants in the target language.
May occasionally assume supplementary duties as an Actor, portraying an individual unaffiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ who seeks to gain further understanding.
As time permits, you may be tasked with assuming additional duties as a Training Area Assistant.
Temporary assignments may also be required at the MTC, such as providing support during the Mission Leadership Seminar.
