Job Summary
We are in search of an accomplished Nautical Instructor, ideally a retired Master Mariner holding a valid Certificate of Competency (COC), to enhance our maritime training institute.
The successful candidate must possess a robust background in classroom-based instruction and demonstrate the ability to provide exceptional educational experiences to students.
Oversee and execute critical duties encompassing strategic planning, operational management, and team leadership to ensure organizational objectives are met efficiently. Develop and implement policies, procedures, and performance metrics to optimize workflow, enhance productivity, and maintain high standards of quality. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align departmental goals with broader company initiatives, fostering a cohesive and results-driven environment. Monitor key performance indicators, analyze data trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership to support informed decision-making. Additionally, oversee budget allocation, resource utilization, and risk management strategies to mitigate potential challenges and drive sustainable growth.
Conduct classroom-based training sessions and administer evaluations for maritime students.
Develop and maintain course materials in compliance with STCW and regulatory standards, ensuring all content remains current and fully aligned with industry requirements.
Offer expert advice and support to students, fostering their academic and personal growth through mentorship.
Perform comprehensive assessments and evaluations to gauge student performance, ensuring accurate measurement of academic progress and developmental milestones.
Partner with fellow instructors to uphold uniform training standards and deliver high-quality educational experiences.
Remain informed about the latest advancements and evolving regulations within the industry to ensure ongoing compliance and strategic alignment.
The position necessitates a minimum of three years of hands-on experience in a related field, along with a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualifications. Candidates must demonstrate proficiency in key technical skills, including advanced data analysis, project management methodologies, and familiarity with industry-standard software tools. Exceptional problem-solving abilities, keen attention to detail, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams are essential. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required to convey complex information effectively to stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with compliance regulations and best practices in the field is highly advantageous.
