As entry-level support specialists, teachers empower missionaries with training across diverse contexts and subjects. Instructional areas may encompass language proficiency, gospel doctrine, Preach My Gospel methodologies, and essential missionary competencies. Teachers provide guidance to both junior and senior missionaries—before, during, and after their time at the Missionary Training Center (MTC)—following a structured, approved curriculum. Additionally, they may be chosen to engage in pilot programs and special initiatives to enhance training effectiveness.
Oversee a range of critical tasks to ensure operational efficiency and team productivity, including coordinating project timelines, managing stakeholder communications, and conducting performance evaluations. Track key metrics to assess progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement corrective measures as needed. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align goals, share insights, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. The position involves reporting to a trainer or supervisor within the Training department.
Delivers guidance, support, and constructive feedback to missionaries across various instructional environments, including individualized coaching sessions, small group discussions, large-scale training seminars, and oversight of Canvas engagement metrics and discussion board interactions.
Plans and devises lessons in alignment with the approved curriculum, collaborating with a companion teacher—where relevant—to effectively address the missionary’s requirements.
Oversees the strategic planning and financial management of missionary learning initiatives.
Implements guidance and instruction provided by the Teacher Trainer/Supervisor, the Manager of Training, and the Senior Manager of Training.
Attends weekly training sessions and collaborates in co-teacher coordination meetings.
Provides support to local leadership by collaborating with Mission and Missionary Department leaders upon request, as needed.
Provides leadership with updates on the status and advancement of designated projects and assignments.
Coaches mentor missionaries throughout their preparation phase and during practice sessions, as well as live lessons.
Candidates may be required to evaluate the language proficiency of prospective missionaries and teaching staff in the target language.
May assume supplementary duties as an Actor, engaging in role-play to portray an individual not affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ who expresses interest in learning more about its teachings.
In addition to primary duties, responsibilities may include serving as a Training Area Assistant, contingent upon available hours.
Other responsibilities may involve fulfilling temporary assignments at the MTC, such as supporting the Mission Leadership Seminar, as needed.
Seeking a highly motivated individual with a minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills and proficiency in data interpretation. A bachelor’s degree in a related discipline is required, and advanced certifications or specialized training are preferred. Responsibilities include conducting thorough research, analyzing complex datasets, and preparing comprehensive reports. The role demands meticulous attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
