The preferred applicant possesses practical experience operating contemporary drilling rigs, demonstrates a comprehensive grasp of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems, and exhibits skillful joystick manipulation for precise rig control at the worksite.
Oversee daily departmental operations to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to established protocols, maintaining high standards of performance and productivity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align objectives, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Prepare and present detailed reports on key performance indicators, project milestones, and resource utilization to senior leadership. Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize processes, reduce operational costs, and enhance service delivery. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and professional growth. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry best practices. Manage stakeholder relationships to build trust, facilitate communication, and support organizational goals.
Operate and maintain rotary and joystick drilling rigs to ensure efficient and safe drilling operations. Perform routine inspections, troubleshoot equipment issues, and conduct necessary repairs to uphold operational standards. Follow established safety protocols and guidelines to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Collaborate with team members to coordinate drilling activities and maintain optimal performance of the rig.
Operates control rigs utilizing joysticks and computerized interfaces to manage functions effectively.
Operate and maintain Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) systems to ensure efficient motor control and energy savings across industrial applications. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot faults, and perform routine maintenance to uphold operational reliability. Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize VFD settings for improved efficiency and compliance with safety standards. Document system parameters, adjustments, and maintenance activities to support compliance and operational records. Ensure adherence to electrical safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines throughout all operational and maintenance procedures.
Execute the installation of casings, liners, screens, and completion equipment as part of well construction and completion operations.
TLC oversees ongoing operations to ensure seamless functionality and adherence to established protocols. The role involves managing daily processes, maintaining operational efficiency, and addressing any challenges that arise to sustain productivity. Responsibilities include monitoring performance metrics, implementing corrective actions when necessary, and fostering a collaborative environment to support team objectives.
Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations in accordance with applicable laws and industry standards.
Compile daily field reports and oversee the upkeep of equipment logs.
Requirements
Experienced drilling professionals with a track record of 5 to 7 years are required for this role.
A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline is required.
Proven experience in operating Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and performing fundamental fault diagnostics.
Demonstrated experience in operating joystick-controlled drilling rigs is essential.
Valid certification as a rig operator or an equivalent qualification is required.
