Codex Pharma Limited is an expanding pharmaceutical enterprise with operational hubs in Lagos, Nigeria, and London, United Kingdom. Our strategic objective is to establish ourselves as the foremost provider of cardio-metabolic care solutions—encompassing diabetes, hypertension, and coronary heart disease (CHD)—within the Nigerian market. This mission will be accomplished through comprehensive patient education initiatives, the introduction of cutting-edge, high-quality yet cost-effective therapeutic solutions (including medications and monitoring devices), and the cultivation of a modern, 21st-century sales force.
The leadership team at Codex, comprising our Directors, possesses over two decades of collective expertise in the pharmaceutical industry, with a particular focus on the sales and marketing of cardio-metabolic therapies—including treatments for diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular conditions—both domestically and in the United Kingdom. Leveraging our extensive pharmaceutical experience, gained through diverse roles within multinational corporations, we are committed to enhancing healthcare standards in Nigeria, with a special emphasis on addressing diabetes, hypertension, and heart disease.
In alignment with our dedication to advancing diabetes management and control across Nigeria—and in furtherance of our overarching vision to improve national health outcomes—Codex is eager to collaborate through public-private partnerships with all levels of government. Such alliances will facilitate robust strategies for the effective management and mitigation of diabetes, a condition of escalating global concern. Notably, for every diagnosed diabetic patient, there is likely an undiagnosed counterpart, and developing nations face a projected 170% increase in diabetes cases.
Since our establishment in 2004, Codex has been actively developing a comprehensive diabetes portfolio, which includes Glucidic (metformin HCL), the Fine Test Meter (a blood glucose monitoring system), Fine Test Strips (disposable test strips), Lancet Needles (for blood sampling), and Clover A1c (an HbA1c testing device). Hypertension frequently coexists with diabetes, and the dual burden of these conditions poses severe risks to cardiovascular health. Individuals with both diabetes and hypertension face elevated risks of stroke, myocardial infarction, heart failure, and renal impairment. Current guidelines from the 7th Joint National Committee on the Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC 7) indicate that 20–25% of Nigerians are hypertensive.
