Human Resources Manager

Job Purpose:

The Human Resource Manager will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of human resource strategies that align with CHAN’s mission and objectives. This includes managing recruitment, talent acquisition, employee welfare, training and development, performance management, and HR compliance. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for human development, diversity and inclusion, and a commitment to advancing Christian values within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the HR Unit in developing and implementing HR strategies to support CHAN’s mission.
Manage the recruitment and onboarding processes to attract top talent, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
Oversee employee development programs, including continuous professional development (CPD) and leadership training.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian labor laws and international HR standards, ensuring fair and transparent policies.
Develop and implement employee welfare programs to enhance job satisfaction and overall well-being.
Foster a culture of inclusion, respect, and Christian ethics within the workplace.
Manage HR data using modern HR Information Systems (HRIS) and other digital tools.
Provide regular performance reports and HR metrics to senior management for strategic decision-making.
Develop HR Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and policies for the safeguarding of staff and beneficiaries.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree and relevant professional HR certification is an advantage.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Strong understanding of Nigerian labor laws, HR best practices, and organizational development strategies.
Experience in recruitment, performance management, training, and employee relations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
A strong commitment to CHAN’s Christian values and mission-driven goals.
