Job Summary
The Finance Officer is responsible for managing the company’s financial operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
This role involves budgeting, financial analysis, accounts management, and supporting strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting:
Prepare and maintain financial records, reports, and statements in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and financial planning.
Conduct variance analysis to compare budgeted vs. actual expenses.
Ensure timely reconciliation of bank statements and financial transactions.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
Process and review invoices, payments, and expense claims.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
Taxation & Compliance:
Ensure timely filing and remittance of tax obligations (PAYE, VAT, WHT, and corporate tax).
Assist in audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
Cost Management & Risk Assessment:
Analyze financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Monitor financial risks and suggest mitigation strategies.
Ensure proper internal controls are implemented to safeguard company assets.
Payroll & Expense Management:
Process payroll, ensuring accuracy in salary calculations, deductions, and statutory contributions.
Maintain employee expense reports and reimbursements in line with company polic
Key Requirements
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
3 – 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related role.
Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or CFA) is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or ERP systems).
Advanced Excel skills and financial data analysis.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Good knowledge of tax laws and financial regulations.
